EU ECOLABEL REQUIREMENTS

What does the certification guarantee?

Requirements covering the entire product life cycle

By choosing products with the EU Ecolabel, you help drive positive change. High requirements apply to design, materials and quality, because the product must also have a long lifespan.

Responsible cotton

Responsible cotton

In our PRO Wear CARE range, we have chosen responsibly produced cotton. The raw cotton is tested for pesticides before further processing. The EU Ecolabel requires regular production checks, documentation and verification – unlike conventional organic cotton.

Skilled farmers

Skilled farmers

The cotton is produced by farmers who have been trained in optimal soil cultivation with minimal use of chemicals and optimal water use. Excellent quality of the cultivated cotton is crucial for future production.

Recycled polyester

Recycled polyester

Post-consumer plastic, i.e. plastic recycled from end users, is used in production. Thanks to a unique process, for example recycled plastic bottles are transformed into recycled polyester, which helps reduce carbon dioxide emissions to protect the environment.

No toxic chemicals

No toxic chemicals

Ecolabelling Denmark approves every dye and chemical used in products bearing the EU Ecolabel. There are requirements for the biodegradability of chemicals with an emphasis on biodiversity, ensuring the richness of nature.

Environmental requirements

Environmental requirements

The amount of wastewater and air emissions generated in production processes is measured at the manufacturing facilities. Emissions are continuously monitored and documented to ensure compliance with the criteria.

Social responsibility

Social responsibility

Social and environmental responsibility is a key aspect of our production processes. We work exclusively with suppliers who have been approved and audited in accordance with the EU Ecolabel criteria and who comply with ID®'s principles of social, environmental and ethical responsibility.

We protect the environment

We protect the environment

The EU Ecolabel sets requirements for compliance with fundamental environmental protection principles regarding the handling of chemicals, water, waste and energy, which is why we work exclusively with suppliers approved by Ecolabelling Denmark.
