FOUR STEPS TO ENSURE HIGH QUALITY
Everyday challenges demand high-quality clothing. – That is why quality care is part of everyday life at ID®
QUALITY DNA
At ID®, quality has always been part of our DNA. We believe that choosing high-quality products with a long lifespan is far more ethical and responsible than wearing “buy it, wear it once and throw it away" clothing. For more than three decades, our products have been tested both in our Quality Lab and by corporate wear users around the world.
FOUR STEPS THAT ENSURE HIGH QUALITY AND A LONG LIFESPAN
Good product quality and a long lifespan are crucial for a new product to be approved for the range. At ID®, we believe that a durable, high-performance product is ensured by four main steps, which you can read about below. ⤵
Step 1
Material selection
Choosing good, responsible, quality materials is crucial for the quality of the product. All materials are carefully selected with an emphasis on quality, durability and functionality. We always use materials and features that have been tested and proven, sourced from suppliers with whom we have long-term relationships.
Sometimes material selection also means giving up certain options if we at ID® cannot stand behind a given quality. For example, we stopped using recycled cotton because it does not contribute positively to product durability. On the contrary – quality deteriorates when cotton fibres are torn and shortened, resulting in weaker cotton and a lower-quality product.
Instead, we use organic cotton certified by OEKO-TEX® ORGANIC COTTON, meeting the stringent OEKO-TEX® requirements, Annex 6, product class 1, and we also offer products with EU Ecolabel certification. We are also a proud member of the Better Cotton Initiative, which works to improve global cotton production – both for the people who produce it and for the environment in which it grows.
Step 2
Quality control
We regularly test products in our Quality Lab to ensure that each product has the right colour consistency, fabric weight and dimensions matching the size charts. In addition, wash tests are carried out regularly – both in our laboratory and at external industrial laundries – to check shrinkage, colour fastness and overall quality at different washing temperatures.
Beyond laboratory tests and external partners, testing with users who wear our clothes every day is also important to us. This allows us to assess wear and optimise product quality. Thorough preparation and continuous evaluation ensure high quality.
Maintaining a high standard matters to us. Quality is measured in many ways – colour consistency, material and construction tests – which guarantees a long product life.
Step 3
Fit and comfort
Good design and the right fit are crucial for employees to feel comfortable and move freely. To ensure a good fit, our pattern makers continuously work on how garments should be cut and sewn. Even the smallest details can make a big difference to the final result.
Garments are regularly tested on our in-house fit models to ensure that the fit and measurements meet our standards.
Step 4
Washing and care of the product
Washing and caring for products is in the hands of consumers. We proudly advise users on how to ensure even longer product durability.
Take care of your clothes and wash them only when necessary – sometimes it is enough to air them out to freshen them up. Before washing, it is always worth checking the care label sewn into the garment, which tells you how to wash it. Proper washing keeps clothes looking good for longer.
